Ken -  Shawn - Bob - Mark

Route

Kautz Glacier route, with a night on the
summit. The trip lasted 5 days.

With Van Trump Park in
the background  Bob and
Mark make their way to the
9400 ft  camp site.
Since we were planning a
camp on the summit of the
14,411 ft peak, we ascended 2,000 feet per day
for  proper acclimatization.

  Permits

A climbing permit is required to camp above 10,000ft on Mt Rainier. Permits can be
purchased from the Paradise ranger station for $15.00

The 9400 ft camp site has a
great rock to camp by for
shelter from the wind.

The second shot here shows
the cloud capped summit
that we will climb into the
next day on our way to the
summit.
