| With the sleds packed we pull out of the parking lot after getting our back- country permit. Note: the up going road out of Longmire does not open intill 9:00 am in the winter. The road also closes to up- hill traffic at 4:30pm. |

| We did manage to get in the cabin, but it was half full of snow. Some kind climber had dug out a path to the radio. If the door is left open ( even a little ) during the winter, the cabin fills with snow. |
