MEMBERS OF CONGRESS REPRESENTING OHIO RESIDENTS WHO HAVE NOT COSPONSORED HR 594 or S 349 TO REPEAL GPO & WEP
George Voinovich, R Mike DeWine, R Steve Chabot, R Rob Portman, R
Michael Turner, R Michael Oxley, R John Boehner, R Ralph Regula, R
Patrick Tiberi, R Deborah Pryce, R Stephanie Tubbs Jones, D
(Rep. Tubbs-Jones is a member of the Subcommittee on Social Security and should be leading the support for her constituents.)
At the national level, as of May 23nd there were 223 Members of Congress who have signed on as cosponsors of HR 594, McKeon/Berman. There are 435 Members of Congress and a full majority is now cosponsoring HR 594. The next step is to get the bill to the floor of the House of Representatives.
WE HAVE WORKED so hard to get the majority of congress to vote for us that we need to send a strong motivating message requesting that the bill be allowed to come OUT OF COMMITTEE or it will die as all the other bills have.
SEND LETTERS THE 3RD WEEK OF EACH MONTH
The third week of June starts on June 15th. Send a letter to your Members of Congress requesting a vote on HR 594 and that Senate hearings on S 349 must be held as soon as possible.
On a personal note - I was vacationing in Florida with my wife and did not have access to a computer, lucky me. Eileen Ryan and Barbara Ambrosius held down the fort in my absence. Thanks to both of them. Also, Eileen was able to find time to author the following material for your reading pleasure. Thanks again to Eileen for her hard work.

The Harsh Consequences of the GPO/WEP
PETITION
The OnlinePetition has received 4,170 names and messages in less than three months. It is very interesting to revisit this site and read some of the messages. If only our legislators would do as much. Our hard copy petition has grown to 17,437. Thus, we have a total of 21,607. Thanks for your efforts. You can help us publicize this number when communicating with legislators and the media. http://www.petitiononline.com/ssoffset/petition.html
